on the effectiveness of the Sleeve"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"chapo-parag mb-40\">A recent study (*) was carried out on 1,000 people with an average body mass index (weight\/height 2) of 33 kg\/m2. <br>\nThis study showed the effectiveness of the sleeve gastroplasty on weight loss and on the improvement of diseases related to overweight: hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia (hypertriglyceridemia and hypercholesterolemia).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns has-2-columns mb-80 is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Significant weight loss<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The measured weight losses (percentage ratio between weight loss and initial weight) were respectively on average: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>13.7% at 6 months, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>15% at 12 months,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>14.8% at 18 months <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In practice, this means that for a person weighing 88 kg and measuring 1.64 cm, the average weight loss is about 20 kg at 6 months and is then maintained at 18 months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, 77% of people who had diabetes and 100% of people who had high blood pressure and dyslipidemia <strong>recovered from weight professionals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Individuals benefiting from this procedure were followed by a team of <strong>gastroenterologist <\/strong>and <strong>nutritionist <\/strong>to modify their eating behaviour in order to maintain their weight loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were few side effects: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2.4% of patients had pain requiring hospitalization, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>rare cases of bleeding have been transfused <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>rare perigastric collections have been treated with antibiotics. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There were no surgical complications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"focus\">0.8% of patients subsequently had a sleeve gastrectomy and 0.5% opted for a new sleeve gastroplasty after failure of the initial procedure. class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In conclusion, sleeve gastroplasty is an effective and safe procedure that helps non-severely obese people lose weight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accompaniment to change eating behaviour, resume regular physical activity and maintain motivation is essential to achieve lasting weight loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-button
